Signaling

  1. Send and receive a message in the International Morse Code, by buzzer or other sound device at a rate of at least five words per minute.

  2. Show your ability to send and receive a message in the International Morse Code by wigwag, blinker or other light-signaling device at the rate of at least five words per minute.

  3. Know the proper application of the International Morse Code - when, where, and how it can be used to best advantage.

  4. Describe briefly various other codes and methods of signaling which are in common use.

  5. Within a period of three months, log 15 radio contacts showing details of date, time, call sign, signal strength, readability, and location.

  6. Tell in discussion with our Merit Badge Counselor your experience in Radio Scouting communication, as to:
    1. Rules and regulations affecting radio communications
    2. Nature of Radio Scouting communication both in local and foreign contacts
    3. Fundamental theories involved in the operation of a radio transceiver
