First Class Scout Rank

The First Class Scout Rank aims to provide knowledge and skills in the Outdoors like Campcraft and Woodcraft such as Ropework, Cooking and First Aid. It is the third Scout rank of the Boy Scout Section that offers more Community Service projects and completing the WSEP Aim No. 3 requirement.

  1. Cite experiences wherein you were able to live up the Scout Oath and Law, the Scout Motto, and the Boy Scout Slogan.

  2. Produce satisfactory evidence that you have been faithful to your religious obligations in your church or parish.

  3. Lead in at least one flag-raising and one flag-lowering ceremony in your school/institution.

  4. Identify your Troop Committee members and Institutional Leaders and explain what they do to help the Patrol and the Troop in your Scout Advancement.

  5. Earn or save at least the equivalent of two-day's minimum wage based within your locality and be able to open your savings account in your preferred bank.

  6. During your Patrol or Troop Meeting, describe or demonstrate how you will show respect and courtesy for the rights and property of others.

  7. Together with your Patrol members, plan, organize and conduct "Scout's Good Turn" habit through a School or Community Service Project for at least sixteen (16) hours and have it uploaded in your profile. These service projects may either be related to Environment, Development and Peace.

  8. Successfully plant and grow at least three (3) trees within your backyard, school garden or a park in your community.

  9. Must actively participate and successfully passed the Patrol Leader's Training Course with at least a rating of "Very Satisfactory" in the over-all performance.

  10. WSEP Aim No. 3: Explore and Reflect: The risk of harmful substances to people and the environment are minimized. Be aware of harmful substances in the local environment and identify their source. Demonstrate what personal action can be taken to reduce the risk of harmful substances to people and the broader environment.

  11. Earn the following Merit Badges:

    1. Cooking

    2. First Aid

    3. Ropework

  12. Must have successfully passed the Board of Review for First Class Scout Rank.
